Curse From Heart

His life had been cursed
His friends have left
His paths have closed
His luck has turned
His eyes refuse to sleep
His health has declined
His wealth has vanished
He wonders why
So harsh is life
Little did he know
Because I prayed
Because I Said So

Quikr: My Favorite Features

Very often, when we look in our homes, we find many things we no longer use. Some are even unused and lying just for the sake of it. Sometimes, we want to replace some of our used things.
For example, this Diwali, we got new big corner statues for our drawing room. The existing flower pots were shifted to the office. Has they not been sent to office, we would have ended up giving them to anyone who wanted them - maid, sweeper and last option the garbage picker. If provided an easy option, we would love to sell them further and earn some money for the new ones.
Quiker.com comes as the blessing in disguise for such situations. The app can be used to trade tangible as well as intangible products sitting at the convenience of home.
Launched in 2008, it is currently present in
940 cities across India and is accessed by more than 30 million unique users and 26 million brand new customers per month. Quikr provides the local community with a platform to help them buy, sell, rent and find something and address needs across many categories. These categories numbering over 12 and sub-categories over 170 range from Mobiles, real estate, cars, services, jobs, entertainment, furniture, electronics etc.
The portal has also grabbed awards and recognition for its servicecs. They include:
Always On Global 250 - Winner - Year 2009 – 2010
Young Turks Awards - Year 2010 - 2011
Red Herring - Year 2010 – 2011

Certificate of Appreciation - Year 2011 – 2012

WAT Awards - Year 2011 - 2012

From many attractive features, following are the three points which grab my attention towards the website:

Number Privacy Being a girl, I would not like my mobile number to be known to complete strangers. You never know who uses the number in what sense. The feature which keeps my contact number private is just the perfect to safe guard my contact to go public.

Chat History In case I am looking for a product from multiple sellers or have multiple buyers, I would definitely have some key data from different people which need to be compared. With the chat history feature, I no more need to save the details anywhere else or note them somewhere. All I need to do Is look back into the history and access the information I need.

Product MSP Irrespective of my choice to selling or purchasing a product, I definitely want to do the transaction at best price. In case of selling, I may end up quoting the price too low to get myself I loss or too high and not attract any buyers. Similar is the case with buying. I would wonder if the price I am paying is too much!
The feature developed. By quicker called MSP - Maximum Selling Price saves me from this dilemma. Maximum
Selling Price (MSP) calculator to help users estimate a reasonable price range.

Soulmate: My Definition

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers

Most people think of their life partners or their lovers when they hear the word – “Soulmate”.
To be honest, even I think of true love only with reference to soulmate. But then, when I give a thought about it, I disagree with myself. Then, I head over to the Google baba and search the word. Here is what I got:

As per Wikipedia, a Soulmate is a person with whom one has feeling of deep or natural affinity. This may involve similarity, love, romance, friendship, intimacy, sexuality, sexual activity, spirituality, or compatibility and trust.
Of course I was wrong. The most reliable source of definitions also says that it can ne anyone and not necessarily the life partner.

Have a look at below sayings:
Our soulmate is the one who make life come to life. ~Richard Bach
A Soulmate is someone who will make you be the most ‘you’ that you can possibly be.. ~Unknown Source
A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys and keys to fit our locks. ~~Richard Bach

Having gone through several believes about it, one thing that’s clear is that ‘the soulmate is one who make my heart smile.’.

Who is my soulmate?

My soulmate is -
Someone Out there in the Universe who brings Life to My life and Achieve Thy Eternity.

Written in response to Indispire topic – Soulmate not necessarily is the life mate. What do you feel? Express your take…

Life Is Beautiful - Final Part

Read Part 1 here

The doorbell rang and there entered Reha. She greeted Sally and Mark cheerfully.  She was the most beautiful child they had ever seen. Reha asked in surprise, "Granny, did you get my letter?”
'So, she wrote it! I knew it was not Saraswati.", noted Mark.
What happened to their daughter was still a question. The bedroom opened in the meanwhile and Reha ran to hug her mother stating she returned earlier today. Saraswati kissed her and gave a tight hug to her parents. She knew they had a lot of questions. She did not wait for them to speak and spoke - "Mom, I am so sorry for everything. I made Roohi wrote that letter to you. I was too weak to hold the pen that day."
"No baby, we are sorry. Children are bound to mistakes. It's the parents who should understand and decide when to give or withdraw their support. And we are guilty of not being able to do so.", Sally said with tears in her eyes.
"Dad, I need your help. Promise me that you would love Reha as much as you love me."
Mark wanted to interrupt but Saraswati continued.
"I feel that god has punished me for hurting you. Dad, I have been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. In short, my body has stopped producing blood.".
Sally could not take it more and burst out, "So what? There must be some cure!".
"There is, but it's not working. I go not have much time.", Saraswati looked at the little angel who of purse had no idea why everyone was crying. She was just looking at everyone in surprise.

***

Several days had passed and Saraswati's health was deteriorating continuously. Reha was happy to be with her grandparents. Like any other child, her tantrums had double folded in their presence.
Sally and Mark did not know how to help their daughter. They often wondered that this was their time to say adieu to works: not their young daughter. Then on second thoughts, they were also reminded to take better care of themselves whenever they saw Reha. The poor child had no idea what she had in store when it came to mother's love. They had learned to laugh again after they left earlier. They thought that life was beautiful. And now, they thought the opposite.
One morning, as Sally entered Saraawati's bedroom, she found her smiling. She asked her about the reason; but did not get an answer. It was in few minutes that she realized that her daughter was gone. She has a notepad in her lap and another letter - this time in her own handwriting.

Dear Cuties,
This is my last letter for you. I have written some for Reha and kept them in the closet. Please hand one of them to her whenever you feel she is missing me. I am sure that with you around her, it won't be required.
You know, I always wondered why you left me at my small remark did.  Why did you scold me too much? Why did you ask so many questions?
Why was it important for you know each and everything about me?
Why did you stay awake when I was out?
And many more why's...
Ever since Reha came in my lap, I have all the answers by myself. I never missed a chance to let her know about you. She always wanted to see you. She always asked me that why do they not live with us?
After you left and I was all by myself,   I felt alone and dejected first. Gradually, when my loneliness turned into solitude, I realised my blunder. I always needed you. I always needed your interference.
After I am gone, all I request you is to groom Reha just like you groomed me. Let her find her own existence like you set me free.
Please wash away those tears and recite your favroite lines - Life Is Beautiful.

-Your Saraswati

*The new beginning*

A Letter To Myself

Hey Amita,

Do you call yourself an artist?

You do not! I know you have thousand inhibitions about the term. You have several answers to this-.

I am not a dancer. I am not a painter. I am not an actor. I am not a writer (at-least not published yet!).

Your list of "I am not" is quite big. But, dear Amita, it's time you realize what all you are and what all you are capable of. If only creative stuff count as an artist for you, remember your drawings which got placed on notice boards in school, your sculptures which sir liked most in the class and your drawings/portraits which you had hidden from your father (for he would be angry to waste so much time). That's not enough? Revisit your poems you have written. Have a look at the small bookshelf you have made for yourself.

It does not matter how the art is. Remember there is no bad art; there are only good and better arts. Do keep in mind that

Every artist was first an amateur. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I am sure your head is rising in confidence up now. I know that smile  you adore on your lips.

In addition to above,

Do not forget that-

You are a daughter,

And you are a niece, a granddaughter,

And you are a wife,

And you are a daughter in law,

And you are a sister in law,

And you are a mother,

And you are a software Professional,

And you are a blogger,

And you are a reader.

Thus my darling,

You are an artist too!

Be Proud Of Yourself
To be an artist is to believe in life. ~Henry Moore
Recite above lines daily in the mirror and mark to not add any 'OR' in your life; just keeping adding 'AND'. Believe in yourself.

Life Is Beautiful - 4

Sally did not wait for Mark to pay the taxi and take out luggage; she directly ringed the doorbell and waited impatiently. Mark asked her to calm down. As the door opened, an unknown face came out and greeted them with a warm smile. "Come in. Madam told that you would be coming anytime in a day or two", said the lady who looked in her early thirties by her face. Sally and Mark were bit confused on how the lady recognized them. Their confusion was cleared as they entered the house. The lobby was full of pictures clicked at happier times.
The lady returned with glasses of water and told them that Reha madam was out and would be back by evening. She told them that Saraswati madam was sleeping at the moment. Mark thanked her and told her they would be comfortable. Comfortable - Which they were not in the house they had lived in for years. The same house looked stranger to them except the beautiful wall full of memories.
They went straight into their daughter's room and as told, found her sleeping. Still, they were worried. Saraswati was looking very weak and had developed big dark circles under her eyes. Many medicines were scattered on her study table. Concerned for Saraswati, they rushed to the lady who greeted them.
Mark - "Is she not well?"
Sally - "What happened to her? Why is she looking so weak? Why are so many medicines around her? What are those medicines for? For god sake, please speak up", Sally almost shouted without a pause.
Lady - "I am the caretaker here. Please calm down madam. Let me call Reha madam. She would talk to you.” She called some number and said - "Madam, your grandparents have come. They are obviously very concerned.”
Reha - "Oh! Thanks for calling. I would be home in half an hour. I had already spoken to the teacher. Bye.", the call got disconnected with these words.
"Reha", whispered Sally. She was their granddaughter. They turned back to look at the pictures and found many pictures of a beautiful looking girl right from her birth to little five year jumping girl. Sally had tears in her eyes and Mark was smiling and sad at the same time. The concern of their daughter vanished from their mind for some moments. Some one very well said - "Interest is more precious than the principle amount.” she looked exactly like her mother. Same eyes, similar nose and same hair. Their thoughts were disturbed by the caretaker's voice on informing about the call.
"She herself is a child. How is she managing this caretaker?", said Mark in amazement.

"Let’s wait for some more minutes. She would be here. Oh! I feel so guilty about leaving our angel alone when she needed us the most.” Sally cried with tears in her eyes. Mark did not have anything to say except the hug.

My Desktop in Office

I am running short of posts for my Challenge.
Today's blogging idea email said asked to post sny pictures. Thus, here are some pics on what all things except work are there at my office workstation.

I made my little boy make this painting for the Independence day event in my office last year. I was such an idiot to forget to bring it on D-day..:( Any ways, it has made way to my workstation permanently.

These elephant sticky were posted when in wrote the post - Ricky and Elephant

I loved this pen stand on my colleague's workstation. She said someone else gave it to her since she also liked it. I was all behind her teasing for the same during her notice period and when she left, i found it with a smiley sticker on my desk as the surprise. Thanks dear...

I had piled up 3-4 paper cups on my desk by drinking water. On some day, I had very little work and thus I tried to turn them in these crafts!

Smiley Sticker
I have no idea from where this little sticker dropped on my desk. Any-ways, I ticked the smile and pasted right in front of me.

What's there on you workstation?

Life Is Beautiful - 3

Read part 1 here

Mark and Sally were holding their hands tight as they sat in the flight. The day Saraswati talked about in the letter flashed in front of their eyes. Eyes that looked at infinity.

Sally was cleaning up things at Saraswati's room. Her daughter hated it and always asked her not to touch anything but then Sally never listened. As she was arranging the books scattered everywhere, an envelope took her attention. It read some gynaecologist. As she opened the contents, she was still - her daughter was three months pregnant. She tried to hide it from Mark before talking to Saraswati, but as always, Mark knew with her voice that she had something to share. As Saraswati returned home in evening, she saw the report served at dining table and she knew she was in trouble. The trouble was not that he was pregnant, the problem was that she had not told her cuties about it. In a country like India, it was a sin I be pregnant before  marriage and almost impossible to be a single mother.
Before she could be asked anything, she tried to cover up - "Mummy, I did not know what to say to you!".
"Look dear, you lied to us".
"I did not lie. I just did not tell you."
"No, you lied. Remember we asked you about your exhausted energy some time back; you said it was just work pressure"
"Ok, I am sorry."
"Sorry! Do you think it's that simple? You know what names you would be called upon in few days. You have ruined your life, atleast in this city in India".
"ok. It's my life and I have ruined it myself. Please do not tell me what's wrong. I can take care of myself"
Sensing that it was getting bitter, Sally tried to intervene and calm down.
"Dear, we are not blaming you neither trying to interfere. It's just that we are worried about you".
"It's my life and I should be one worried about it. Please leave me alone."
Saraswati yelled and closed her door. The parents were left standing without words and hurt. They could not figure our the reason for such drastic change in their daughter. Whatever it was, they could not take it.
Next morning, when Saraswati woke up, she found  message on the table about Sally and Mark's leaving her alone as she asked.

"Attention please! All passengers are requested to put in their seat belts as we are about to las at Indira Gandhi International Airport New Delhi"
Mark helped Sally to tie her seat belt and waited for the arrival. Both of them could not wait to see the apple of their eye and find out the reason which led her to do a thing that's not in her nature - admit her mistake.

DDA Sports Complex - Flowers, Baby and Monkeys

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
Visiting the DDA sports complex near my home is one thing I can never say no to. My son and myself, visit the kids area almost daily - except when any of us is not well or we are not at home or i come back late from office or the complex is closed. Due to winters, my daily walk to the complex is currently on hold as it already gets dark  till the time I am back home from office.
Now, since the winters are at their end, We try and have our share of fun on my off day in day time. This is the best season to go and enjoy in the sports complex at this period of year. It's spring and its blooming flowers all over the place. For my son, it's a double delight to go there at any day- any time (24*7). Below are some pictures of flowers I clicked with my phone recently.

Kid first - or he would kill me for giving attention to flowers than  him when he grows up.

The flowers...

Little creatures- squirrels also have their share of food and sun since there are very few people at this time.

And yes, the monkeys too visit the complex daily without a miss. The day I clicked these pictures, it was a small group comprising of only one little monkey and 3-4 adults. I am obviously scared to go near them and thus the pictures are taken from some distance.

Guess what, The baby monkeys take over the whole children play area and have fun on slides too. Since i took the video with modile and with good long distance, it would require some effort to spot the baby.

Enjoy!!!

Wait, few creative sculptures at the park which used to scare my kid when he saw them first. Now, he keeps pointing to them - Uncle!, Horse, baby horse!, Duck, baby duck...

Do the pictures prompt you to put on those sport shoes and head on to nearest valley of nature?

Love at Symbol Of Love

When we were newly married, almost 7-8 months after, we went for a small trip to Agra. My brother in law had some friends who had come from Malasiya and wanted to see the Taj Mahal. We took on the long drive to Delhi-Agra express and headed towards the destination at almost midnight.
Driving through the empty roads, we reached the Taj early morning just thirty minutes before the opening of ticket counters. Taking the ticket, we were among the first few to enter the white wonder. I had already been there, but it was a delight to watch the wonder with very few people to roam around. We clicked several pictures and had fun joking around. We spent almost 2 hours sitting here and there as the morning sun was not too harsh to push us in shadows.
As we were leaving and about to step down the stairs, we noticed a foreign couple standing in front of the monument. The guy was on his knees with a ring and girl was all smiling wide. It was such a treat to eyes to see a love story in making at the symbol of love itself. We stopped there to watch and give couple their required privacy. As the live birds confessed and hugged each other, we could not stop but clap for them. They greeted us with thankful eyes in return. That was when I realised that Pradeep also has been holding my hand tight all through the moments.
We left the place all smiling. I cannot ever forget the sight I witnessed. I seriously hope that their love blossom with each passing day.

Fifth Anniversary Plans

Proposing my crush! That's going to be a rough task for me.  I have had some string crushes, but I never had the courage to confess and was only happy if I could say hello to them occasionally. Till date, I have proposed only once. Yes! I have proposed someone: that it was long back while I was a teenager is a different thing. Oh, did it so badly. I sent one common friend of us to the guy and guess what! I was rejected. I had no idea why I proposed him, he was not handsome, nor did I have a crush upon. Maybe, as it happens in that age group that it is so important to have a girlfriend or boyfriend. I felt so ashamed after that. Now, when I remember that, I laugh at myself.

Today, when I am married with one and a half kid (I guess one can infer why half ;) ) and about to celebrate my fifth wedding anniversary, I have been thinking of making it special. My husband dear did all efforts to woo me after we were arranged and that special attention is still so dear to me. Sometimes, I think how bad he must have felt when I gave so cold responses to his efforts. But then, I am not very creative when it comes to love. Occasionally, both of us try to do that bit and make each other smile. After having a serious thought in this, here is what I have come up with:

POEM I wrote a poem to my husband in our first anniversary. That is something only for two of us, below is a short snippet form the lines:

You said those words, I couldn't stop blushing…
couldn't stop smiling…
My eyes sparkled at your sight,
face brightened at your love,
Don’t know I started feeling…
You’re the one, and I am you dove

I am working on another collection of words to make him feel special.

CARD
Greeting card is the medium of expression which has faded with time. I still love them. They make us smile every time we happen to see them.
My dear husband somehow doesn't seem to be emotionally attached to those pieces of paper, as I have often found my cards lying here and there. It feels bad, but then this is something that cannot be forced upon. I even thought that I would not give him a card again as eventually I myself end up keeping them safe somewhere!
Then again, five years is special. I would definitely make a card all by myself and write the poem inside it and try to get it delivered at our doorstep via courier for that surprise.

Cake and Candles
A presentable cake cooked by myself with mesmerizing fragrance of glowing candles at midnight when everyone else has fallen asleep (we have a joint family and both of us get those oh! So cute look form family members when we do something special for each other sometimes).

If possible, I would try to get our platinum band of love (depends on budget!).

Some romantic cuddling selfies and long kisses...

Solitude: Love Yourself

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
"Shall I accompany you?", he asked her as she was stepping out for her daily walk. She kissed him goodbye and lovingly declined.
That day, he final decided to follow her and watch what she did while she was alone. She sat on the stone and took out the packet of grains she carried in her pocket. Birds were already waiting for her. They spread their wings in joy over her as she sat there. She was smiling all by herself as she fed the little angels. She hugged herself and looked up in the sky. He noticed that she had that sparking smile on her lips throughout the time.
That day, he realized that she did not like to be alone; she just loved those moments of solitude.

Solitude that taught her the most important lesson of life - to love yourself.

Healthy Children: Healthy Home

We often hear the words - "Children are the future of world.”
Forget world, for all of us, children are our own future. The moment we become parents or a child arrives in our house, we start viewing the world through their eyes. We live our dreams with our kids. The little soul becomes our reflection. Needless to say, our world revolves around them.
Thus, the home is exact mirror image of children.
Children are sleeping; whole house goes quite as if sleeping.
Children are playing; whole house is playing with them.
Children are happy, the house is laughing out loud.
Children are sad, the house cries with them.
Children are ill, everyone else is ill too.

I have a three years old baby boy and believe me, all family members feel sick whenever he is not well. If  not sick, at least, all of us have to quite our respective chores and be extra attentive towards him so as to make sure he is eating well, playing just enough and taking medicines on time. My heart literally cries whenever I have to force feed a bitter medicine to him.

Thus it is very important to enforce healthy habits at our home. Doctors say that if we eat on time and sleep on time, we would be healthy as ever. But apart from this, I think there are some basic habits which we can induce in our lives so as to remain healthy:
1. Wash hands before and after the meals
Ever seen the 'Tasty Time with Ze Fronk' cartoon series on Disney Junior? It very proudly says - "We wash our hands to make them neat, before we fix our tasty treat".
I bet if the kids watch this series, they won't let you cook or plate the food without washing your hands forget eating.

2. Drink plenty of water
Seventy percent of our body is made up of water. While drinking water is good, we also need to make sure that the water is purified or boiled before drinking.
This is one habit which can be really easy or really hard to induce in kids. Some kids keep drinking water and some just won't do it. My kid is of second type. It's very rare that he drinks water properly. We need to keep asking him if he need water and when he wants, he drink only a sip. Ironically, He drink more than required and sometimes vomits back whenever we are eating out.

3. Workout outdoors
Many of us want to shed those kilos. Some of us workout as well. But, we generally work out in gyms or closed areas. Similarly, kids these days have forgotten the fun games we have grown up playing. Remember hide and seek in parks, pakdam pakdai, vish-amrit, uunch neech ka papda, chain-chain and many more. How many kids these days know about them? Playing for today's kids implies those video games, x-box or some stupid addictive games on our smartphones. We need to make sure that we put in that extra effort to let the kids run and soak in some fresh air outdoors. This has an added advantage - play along with them and stay slim.

4. Early to bed, early to rise
This is one nursery rhyme hate so much. At the same time, I do wish to go to bed early. Believe me, seven to eight hours of sound sleep is more than enough for us. If we sleep early, we tend to wake up early automatically.
My kid does not sleep at night till everyone in in bed. The time till anyone is awake, he keep jumping around that person. We need to try and sleep early and thus rise early. This also gives us more time to ourselves. My mother in law also says - "Jo sota hai, vo khota hai!". According to her, people who sleep till late in morning have already wasted half of their day thus leaving less time to do work, enjoy etc.

5. Healthy Eating
Some wise man said - "Breakfast like a king, lunch like a labour and dinner like a beggar". This is so true as we all get the same advice by all health experts.
Healthy eating also includes a balanced diet. While those juices tastes good and are easy to consume, but they have no nutrition value when compared to fresh fruits. Take the orange juice for instance. One glass of orange juice has almost 4 to five oranges minus any fibres and starch which is so important to us specially the kids.
If we eat healthy, we increase our immunity also.

Healthy people are those who live in healthy homes on a healthy diet; in an environment equally fit for birth, growth work, healing, and dying... Healthy people need no bureaucratic interference to mate, give birth, share the human condition and die.
~Ivan Illich

Book Review: The Mouse Charmers by Anuradha Goyal

One fine day, my door bell rang and the courier boy handed me a yellow packet. The package was delivered to myself. I was pleasantly surprised a book inside - The Mouse Charmers. Honestly, I had no idea the source of book. Anyways, any book is always welcome at my adobe, thus I placed the book on my side table.
It was after few days that I recalled signing up for a free copy of this book to be reviewed from Indiblogger.
Thank you Indiblogger for sending me this book. Hope to have many more books in the future.

Coming back to the review:

About the author:
Anuradha Goyal 18+ years of experience spanning across the various facets of IT industry. She has published multiple papers in various forums and journals and is an active blogger.
Head over to her website - http://www.anuradhagoyal.com/ and let her speak for herself.

BOOK REVIEW ★★★

Book Cover
Being the technology book, I liked the cover page. It depicted the complexity of web portals with small graphic images.

The Blurb
The advent of internet has been a significant game changer of our generation. Mouse charmers are a new breed of entrepreneurs in emerging India powered by the internet and the opportunities that it offers to create new markets and to cater to old markets in new ways. Some of them have already achieved success where they can be called iconic and inspiring while others have powerful ideas that put them on the same path. Anuradha Goyal tells the stories of digital pioneers like Flipkart, Zomato, MakeMyTrip, ImagesBazaar, ImdiBlogger; how they started out, the innovations and technologies involved, their business models, and unique marketing strategies. Inspiring and useful, the mouse charmers is an essential guide for aspiring entrepreneurs.

What I Felt About The Book
I am sure no internet user is unaware of Make My Trip, flipkart. Even if most of non internet users are aware of shaadi.com. What can be the better treat for upcoming entrepreneurs than deep through knowledge of these well established brands.
Honestly, I am not a non-fiction reader. Every-time I pick such books, I am really scared if I would be able to finish it or not. I am proud to say that 'The Mouse Charmers' forced me to finish it till last page.

Author has divided the book in three parts:
1. eCommerce: Flipkart, Make My Trip, Big Basket and Caratlane
2. Content Platforms: Zomato, Games2Win , ImagesBazar and Chai With Lakshmi
3. Connectors: Shaadi.com Commonfloor, Rang De and Indiblogger

The book covers case studies of each portal in detail along with their planning, strategies and special features to capture the market. The way information is utilized and displayed in the book, starting from the very establishment of companies, to their innovations and technologies involved, their business models, and unique marketing strategies: one is bound to be inspired.

What I liked about the book:
1. Tabular format of vital informations at the end of each case
2. Choice of portals - author has tried to cover each and every possible aspect of internet usage

What I did not like about the book:
1. The book could also have listed few of the failures experienced by the portals. That would have shown the real picture and also the readers would have understood the hard work that went behind glorious hits.

Laundry: Woman job at my home

Equality for women
Women empowerment
Harassment laws at work place
Stringent laws for violence against women
Women friendly policies

World is shouting all good things for woman on top of its voice. Men around me have complained this special attention many times. They complain that why only women's day and not men's day? There were ages when women were only other living entities with minimal rights. No doubt time has changed. Women today are progressing more than men. Wives earning more than husband are not a big deal today. But, when I look at below clip, I suddenly go back ages:

There are many statistics which tell the thinking of both men and women when it comes to laundry. I also want to thank blogadda to give me a platform for cribbing a much as I can.

It's ironical that the very weekend we decide to skip the laundry, Husbands always have to wear the same favourite t-shirt that lies in the washing machine all soaked in dirt. While 2-3 hours of my weekends are either soaked in sweat (summers, it feels to have taken a bath in our own sweat) or causing my fingers to go numb in cold water (winters are worst for washing clothes – you cannot get so much of hot water), husband dear is still sleeping or asking for tea sitting in front of idiot box.

Sometimes, I feel that god is taking revenge in me for doing the same to my mother before marriage. Now I understand the reason of her cranky behaviour every Sunday morning.

While there isn't much inequality at my home, as there are some chores which I do not even attempt - Leaking taps, washing cars and many more. But still, they are occasional tasks. When some guy says that there are tasks which only we do, I so want to revert back with – “Let’s swap our seats”.

Yes, it's so true that I have two full time jobs - Office and HOUSEHOLD.  I am seriously thankful to my mother in law who shares my second job and thus help me performing acceptable in it. But then she is also a woman.

If all time multitasking is not enough, picture this. The husband dear goes on a trip - business trip. He tries to take as many clothes as possible (depending on the number of days tour is supposed to last) so that cleaning them would not be required. Even if its required, the frequency would be as low as possible. So, while my heart is on cloud nine whenever he comes back, some comer of my heart is also worried also worried about the big bag of laundry waiting to be done!

Thus, "Is laundry a woman job?”
Sad, but It’s a yes at my home.

I am writing for #IsLaundryOnlyAWomansJob activity at BlogAdda.com in association with Ariel.
